Whole Foods Market Blogger Event

3:11 PM

So last night I had the pleasure of going to my very first blogger event with my sister, which was held at Whole Foods Market. I honestly had no idea what a blogger's event was, what to bring, what to wear or even what to do. I was so nervous I accidentally left my camera at home, which bums me out as I missed out on taking amazing pictures.

As I was there I will be honest I felt a little off, I've always been the quiet type when it comes to being around people I don't know. So as you could imagine I was in a corner, staying to myself. I did try some amazing food that was made such as, Winter Vegetable Salad, Cranberry Sauce with Goat Cheese Nachos, Apple Frangipane Tart, and Coconut Ice Cream with Bourbon Sauce. I absolutely loved everything, especially the Apple Frangipane Tart as I am an apple fanatic.

I was able to get a recipe for the Winter Vegetable Salad which I am sharing below. I cannot wait to make this salad because I just know that my little girl would love it!!!

Winter Vegetable Salad:
Salad Ingredients:
4 Cups chopped root vegtables - parsnips, rutabagas, turnips, bets, butternut squash, fingerling potatoes
8 Cups mixed greens - kale, chard, arugula
1/2 Cup toasted almonds
1/2 Cup fresh goat cheese

Root Vegetable Marinade:
1/3 Cup olive oil
1/3 Cup maple syrup
3 Tsp gluten free tamari
Fresh ginger juice to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Roast vegetables mixed with marinade at 375 degrees till soft. About 20 to 25 minutes.

Spiced Vinaigrette:
2 Tsp fresh giner
2 Medium garlic cloves, chopped
1/3 Cup olive oil
1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar
1 Cup pear juice
2 Tsp maple syrup
1 1/2 Tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Wisk all ingredients together till dressing is infused.

I really should work on approaching people and introducing myself. *giggles* Everyone I had the pleasure of meeting was very kind. The event was very organized and well set up. When it became time to leave all bloggers who attended received a favor bag, which was very kind and very unexpected.

I cannot wait to go to my next bloggers event and I will definitely have my camera handy for some awesome pictures!

  1. Hi Erica! I love the WFM blogger events...they're always so well run and the chefs always give some great tips and recipes. I'm so sorry I missed it and missed meeting up with you and your sister. I'm the silent type too - so these events force me out of my shell. Hope to meet you at a future event soon!

    1. I loved this event and I first went to a WFM 2 months ago which I fell in love with this store. It was my first time trying what's cooked and I definitely need to have lunch at WFM sometime soon. I hope to meet you at a future event. :)

  2. That sounds like a great event and my family loves Whole Foods. The one here in downtown Austin also has a little playscape which is nice for kiddos.

  9. I've always thought it would be fun to be a presenter at a grocery store! It's fun to talk about food and eat with people enthusiastic about health!
I have been nervous when it comes to public speaking and presentation, but it feels good when it's all done and I've been able to open up and connect. It's a lot easier when you know your topic. For me, I could talk about gluten-free food all day! Hah.
